Little Things That Really Matter
On today's post I'd love to go on a brief ride with us on some seemingly little things that actually weigh more than they look, what's your belief system like?? Ooh yeah you're a Christian, no doubt but have you taken out time to glance through the system you live and walk by? There are so many popular ideologies that are good and harmless but necessarily not God.
Let's start with this popular quote "..the end justifies the means" is this really true?? If the end truly JUSTIFIES the means will it not be right to say that anything and everything is accepted, morals can be thrown out of the window and we can do whatever we like so long as we "win" in the end? Ooh there's another one in that same line "all is well that ends well", brilliant thoughts, right? I think so too, until we dig beyond the surface.
Dear friend, when the scripture says "guard your heart with all diligence.." (probably my favorite verse by the way) it wasn't just another assembly of words to wow us, statements like "the weapons of our warfare are not carnal..." wasn't necessarily referring to fighting witches/wizards, Jesus already did them dirty. The battle is in the mind and just so you know, people of other religions, the new age, relativism, spirtism etc, tap into the strength inherent in the mind and use to their advantage and then sell to us (read about Yoga and the 7 chakras for example, at least for knowledge sake, so you don't accuse me of any conspiracy theory yet).
We have the Holy Spirit there to collaborate with but we pay less attention to him because we think some things are not within his jurisdiction, we switch him on in the christian environment and switch him off outside. The near worship of the "Laws Of Karma" is another thing that gives me a little headache, maybe I overreact to things though but the way we (believers inclusive) threaten people with the law of karma catching up with them I wonder where our faith is truly anchored. The laws of Karma are good, no doubt; they are a set of moral guidelines that has to do with cause and effect in life, especially along the lines of good and bad and it has its roots in Buddhism, Hinduism and Janism, when you research deeply into some of this religions and see the major guiding principles you'll have to reassess some things. The blood of Abel speaks good things right? speaks judgement too but the blood of Jesus is famed to speak greater things, so why do we go for well-packaged things with less value?.
If you look at the world today and compare some current realities with what was obtainable 10-15 years ago you'll understand the enemy's subtle and systematic approach on attacking our minds, this approach dates back to Eden anyways.
Am I saying that you shouldn't apply other principles that doesn't necessarily emanate from the Bible?? No that's not really what I'm trying to communicate, what I'm saying is, all principles or systems of living and thinking have their equivalent(a better one) in the scriptures, in your quest for growth and knowledge every thing you do/think especially personally, must have to pass through the lens of God's word so that you'll not be caught between cross-fires. The Holy Spirit is an intelligent being, you'll be surprised the things he's willing to talk about only if you don't try to box him.
I'll leave you with this "Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.". Romans 12:2.
